Prof. Dr.-Ing. Horst Karl Hahn, Director of Fraunhofer MEVIS, was honored with the honorary membership in the German Radiological Society (DRG) during the German Radiology Congress (RÖKO).
The congress, centered around the theme of artificial intelligence (AI) in radiology, opened with a talk by Hahn titled “AI as a lifesaver in the sea of uncertainty?” He discussed the limitations and opportunities of AI implementation in improving safety, productivity, and quality in medicine, emphasizing the need for consistent error management. Hahn, a physicist and Professor of Digital Medicine at the University of Bremen, aims for the sustainable transformation of medical processes through data integration, quantitative modeling, and interactive machine learning and AI. Other scientists from Fraunhofer MEVIS also presented their work on AI applications in radiological research at RÖKO 2023. The DRG, founded in 1905, has been dedicated to advancing radiology and plays a crucial role in shaping the future of radiology and imaging based on factors like digitization, demographic changes, and health policy conditions. The German Radiology Congress brings together 7,000 attendees to discuss scientific findings and their practical applications in medical imaging. Read more …
